On my trip up to Maine, I knew I wanted to get a photo of the stars.  Somehow.  The gear I have, while amazing, isn't the best for astrophotography.  The minimum aperture of f4 on my wide angle left me thinking I couldn't get much, but I went out to shoot anyway.  I went to the top of a large hill near where I was staying.. and boy were there stars--not like they are in CT.  I setup and started shooting, and within two exposures I had it nailed down. But something was lacking.   There was no "subject" or foreground element.  So I got in front of the lens, first just looking up.  But it was dull.  So I tried another pose, and it all just seemed to come together. I left with numb fingers, and almost got stuck in the sand when I left.  But it was worth it.
