2014 | A Year in Review

2014 was a big year for me.  This spring I launched this website, created a logo, and ordered business cards.  RedSkiesPhotography (RSP) became a reality, and my photography began to take off more than I could have ever thought. While I was in the process of creating RSP, I graduated from the University of Maine at Machias with my bachelors in Marine Biology, the first to complete that degree in 3 years there. Shortly before that, my beautiful niece Lillian Marie entered the world! At the beginning of the summer I turned 21, and checked that milestone off the calendar. I spent the summer working at Project Oceanology as a part-time instructor, and most of that work felt more like play--we spent our days on the beach, in the lab, and on the boat.  This fall I became even more active, and had many "first" sessions: engagement, wedding reception, portrait, family, and products.  December 5th marked the day of my first gallery showing, which went incredibly well; better than I could imagine!  2014 was a great year for me, and I think it'll be tough for 2015 to best it.

And now for the important stuff... the pictures!

It's pretty cool to look back at all my favorite images from this year.  Some are good, some are great, but the biggest thing I see is an overall improvement from start to finish.  It was a great year, a lot of firsts, and I can't wait to see what 2015 will bring for Red Skies Photography!
