New Gear | Tamron 70-200 2.8 | 10-14-14

Today is an excellent day! Why, you might ask? Because new gear arrived in the mail!  Todd, our UPS guy, dropped off the lens around noon today--with an original arrival date of tomorrow, I was obviously pleasantly surprised!  So I did a quick unboxing, and walked around the yard a bit to run it through it's paces.  Until now I've had an older, Nikon iteration of this focal length, but it lacked modern technology like low-dispersion elements and vibration control.  With the older lens I couldn't shoot much below 1/200th of a second, and with this one, I can easily shoot down to 1/30th and below.  That opens up a LOT of options for shooting in low light, so I'm really excited about that!!  This is the same lens I rented for three different shoots a few weekends ago and fell in love with... and now it's mine!  I'm excited to use it in my upcoming engagement and family shoots, so look for those blog posts in the next few weeks!
